# The GPL license

What the GPL license allows and what a catalog product includes.

WordPress and most of its plugins and themes are distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). The GPL allows you to use, study, modify, and redistribute the software, as long as redistributed copies keep the same license.

GPLClub redistributes products published under the GPL. It is not affiliated with their original developers.

## The four freedoms

The GPL guarantees anyone who receives the software the freedom to:

1. Use it for any purpose.
2. Study how it works and modify it.
3. Redistribute copies.
4. Distribute copies of modified versions.

## What a catalog product includes

Each download includes the product's complete code. It does not include:

* **The developer's license key.** Features that depend on it, such as cloud template libraries or the author's automatic updates, may not be available. For those cases, the plans include [original licenses](/en/original-licenses/what-is-an-original-license.md).
* **The developer's support.** GPLClub support covers downloading and installing products, not how they work internally.

Product updates are downloaded from GPLClub, on the website or with [GPLClub Updater](/en/gplclub-updater/what-is-gplclub-updater.md).

## After you cancel your membership

Downloaded products are governed by the GPL and keep working after the membership ends. Downloads and updates are no longer available.

Original licenses depend on the membership: after you cancel it, they are not guaranteed to remain active.
