# Request an activation

How to request from the dashboard that we activate an original license on your site.

Original licenses included in the plan are requested on the member dashboard, under **Licenses**. The GPLClub team signs in to the site's WordPress dashboard and activates the licenses manually. Requests are handled in order of arrival within 24 hours, usually the same day.

## Requirements

* An active membership with free slots in your [license quota](/en/original-licenses/your-license-quota.md).
* The site's domain, without a path or parameters: for example, `yourdomain.com`.
* Administrator access to the site's WordPress dashboard.
* The site online and loading normally. If it takes too long to load, the licenses cannot be activated.

Before requesting an activation, back up the site.

## Create temporary access

Giving access with a temporary link is recommended: it expires on its own and does not require sharing any password.

To create a temporary access link:

1. On the site's WordPress, install and activate the free **Temporary Login Without Password** plugin.
2. Go to **Users > Temporary Users** and select **Create new**.
3. Use these details: email `contacto@gplclub.com`, role **Administrator**, and an expiry of **3 days**.
4. Save and copy the link the plugin generates.

If you prefer to provide a username and password, create an administrator user only for the activation and delete it once the licenses are active.

## Request the activation

To request an activation:

1. On the dashboard, go to **Licenses**.
2. In **Domain**, enter the site's domain, select the licenses you need, and select **Next**.
3. In **Access type**, select **Direct access link** and paste the temporary link. The other option, **Administrator username and password**, asks for an administrator's email and password.
4. If you want a WhatsApp notification, select **Notify me via WhatsApp when ready** and enter your number.
5. Review the request and select **Confirm & send**.

Each request is for a single domain. To activate licenses on several sites, send one request per domain.

## After you request it

* You receive the **Got it: we are activating your licence on {domain}** email. If the domain is wrong, reply to that email before the license is activated.
* When the licenses are active, you receive the **Your licences are now active on {domain}** email, with a note from the team if needed.
* On the dashboard, **My licenses > View detail** shows the **Active** licenses and the ones **Under review**.

If a license does not work after it is activated, reply to the activation email or [contact support](/en/support-and-legal/contact-us.md).

## Limitations

* A submitted request cannot be canceled or edited from the dashboard. To change the domain or cancel it before it is activated, reply to the **Got it** email.
* An activated license cannot be moved to another domain. Refer to [Change domain](/en/original-licenses/your-license-quota.md#change-domain).
